Is it possible for an international student to study medicine in the US?

Q. How long will it take for a person who is not a US citizen to study medicine in the US and finally become a neurosurgeon attending. Would it be possible for an international student with good grades to study in Harvard.

A. Medical schools at private universities in the US do accept foreign students.
Foreign students from non-English speaking countries must have an acceptable score on the TOEFL.
You will need a 4-year undergraduate degree
Four years of medical school
One year of internship
Seven years neurosurgery residency
More if you do a fellowship. Most neurosurgeons do. You certainly must do one if you have the ambition of being an attending.
That works out to about 18 years after high school graduation.
It's also REALLY expensive!
