Reasons Why Driving Without Car Insurance is Illegal

One of the very first things that you will learn in Drivers' Ed is the rule that every driver needs car insurance. Unfortunately, though, with the recent economic turmoil today's society is now suffering from, a lot of drivers opt to just drive "safely" instead of getting a decent coverage or even a policy.

Now, this is a big problem. Everybody, especially the law, knows that "driving safely" is not possible without being insured. Why? You need to be insured because while you're on the road in a motor vehicle, you are always at risk of getting into some trouble. You may be a safe driver, but that doesn't' say that others are the same. And as you can never just avoid other cars on the street where you're driving, you can never be sure that you can be out of any vehicular accidents.

As you may know, the very reason to get a policy from a decent auto insurance company is the fact that it is a way to secure your and other people's safety, so that when anything bad happens, someone can take responsibility and cover the expenses for the accident. This is why getting insured is mandatory in most countries, so treatments can be easily executed as soon as an accident happens.

Sadly, this isn't enough reason for some people. For them, paying for car insurance premiums is expendable and nonessential, because they can just be very careful drivers to avoid accidents. Well, again, this is impossible, because there's really no assurance that the other guy on the road with you is driving as carefully as you are.

And as this getting auto insurance is a mandatory law, there are a lot of consequences that you may face once arrested for not being insured. For one, you can face large fines for not complying depending of course, on which state you are in.

Aside from these fines, you can also get other legal penalties for not getting, even a really cheap auto insurance for you and your vehicle. Your license and/or registration can get suspended and your uninsured car can get impounded. In some states, you can also get some jail time by being uninsured, mostly because you're putting yourself and other people in harm.

Now, with all of these grave consequences, really, why wouldn't you think about getting a policy? Finding a good and cheap auto insurance policy is extremely very easy already, as most of insurance providing companies can now be found online. So, why bother paying for fines and getting yourself in a legal mess when you can easily avoid it by calling a good car insurance company and purchasing a plan, right?
